Despite forecast by the Meteorological Department that night temperatures would start falling from November-end, there are no such signs with only five days left. This has raised the question, how long would it take for the "real winter" to set in.
The met office predicted that night temperatures may take a turn after falling to 13.5 degrees Celsius in Srimangal and 14.3C in Dinajpur early yesterday (Wednesday), the lowest so far in November.
The month would end with a little moisture-laden warm air in the atmosphere, generated by a likely pressure area developing in the Bay of Bengal. This is likely to last until the first week of December.
