A Sylhet court on Wednesday deferred the recoding of testimonies of the witnesses in the ex-Finance Minister SAMS Kibria murder case.
Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Mokbul Ahsan deferred the recording of the testimonies because only five accused, out of 14, appeared before the court on the day because of illness and other reasons.
The court also fixed today for the recording of the testimonies. With this, it was eighth time the court deferred the recording of testimonies in the case.
Earlier, recording of testimonies of the witnesses in the case was deferred on November 19. Eight people, out of 171 witnesses, have so far made their depositions before the court. On 30 September, the court also started recording the testimonies with Abdul Mozid Khan, former lawmaker of Hobiganj-2 and plaintiff of this case.
On September 13, the court indicted 32 people, including former state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar and suspended Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) mayor Ariful Haque, in the sensational murder case.
