Veteran actor Alamgir, who won the National Film Award multiple times, turns 70 today. Though the actor earlier had planned to celebrate the occasion, he now postponed every bit of it due to the recent coronavirus pandemic across the world, including Bangladesh. As a result, he will spend the day at his Asadgate residence in the capital, where he has been staying at home-quarantine since last few days.
About his birthday, Alamgir said, “Truly speaking, I had made plans to celebrate this birthday in a special manner as I was going to complete 70 years this time. Anyway, it’s not time to celebrate birthday. The entire human race across the world have been threatened by coronavirus pandemic. Every one of us fighting against an invisible enemy. It’s a difficult war for us!”
The actor, who received the lifetime achievement award at the latest edition of National Film Award on last December 8, has urged everyone to stay at home to keep protected from coronavirus.
“We have to fight this deadly virus while staying safe in our respective home. We have to wash our hands repeatedly. Also, we have to sincerely follow the guidelines set by our government. By following all these precautions properly, we can win this war, In sha Allah, the actor added. l
