Missing Rangpur BNP leader held in Lalmonirhat

Police arrested BNP’s Rangpur city unit president Mozaffar Hossain from Mahendranagar Bazaar in Lalmonirhat sadar upazila on Monday night. Mahfuzur Rahman, office-in-charge of Lalmonirhat sadar police station, said police arrested him while he was wondering at Mahendranagar Bazaar. He was produced before a court yesterday afternoon and the court set Sunday as his hearing date.  Mozaffar was picked up on Friday allegedly by a group of people identifying themselves as members of Rapid Action Battalion. Sufia Hossain, wife of Mozaffar, alleged that a number of plainclothes personnel cordoned off their residence late on November 20 and, after a search, they left the residence with the BNP leader.
