The key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- dropped for consecutive two days yesterday as turnover declined, reports BSS
The DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the day 11.05 points down at 4574.05 when the blue-chip DS30 ended marginally lower at 1733.02 and the Shariah DSES at 1102.82.
The daily trade value fell to Tk 443.03 crore and the volume to 13.64 crore shares against Monday's Tk 586.28 crore for 15.55 crore shares.
All the major sectors were down at DSE where only 76 securities closed higher against 209 lagging issues.
The day's major gainers were Al-Arafa Bank, Exim1stMF, Standard Ceramic, DBH and Emerald Oil and the most losing scrips were Khan Brothers, ICB1stNRB, IBN Sina and Beach Hatchery.
Saif Power topped the turnover list followed by Al-Arafa Bank, Ifad Autos, Summit Power and Beximco Pharma.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) ended lower yesterday after witnessing upward trend in the third consecutive session. All the price indices ended in red, with major CSCX closing 27.89 points up at 8528.15.
Out of the day's 239 issues traded, 152 gained and 21 incurred losses. The daily trade value fell to Tk 26.25 crore when the trade volume declined to 93 lakh shares.
