Premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan went to the United States of America (USA) amid the worldwide coronavirus pandemic. He accommodated in a hotel directly from the airport and kept him in self-quarantine.

Shakib himself informed it through a video message on his facebook page on Saturday night.

Shakib’s family dwelled in the USA. But he did not meet with them and kept him in self-quarantine for the next two weeks as per the rules of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

From his self-quarantine, Shakib suggested to his fans and people of the country how all can stay away from the deadly contagious virus.

“Hope you all are well. The World Health Organisation (WHO) dubbed coronavirus as pandemic. Bangladesh is not out of it. In the meantime, you all know that some coronavirus-affected people have been detected in Bangladesh. We have to be careful right away. Our awareness can keep our country safe and keep us sound,” said Shakib Al Hasan.

“I guess if we follow some simple steps, we could remain virus free and keep our country free from coronavirus. Washing hands with soap, maintaining a social distance, following the decorum during coughing, sneezing and if anyone returns home, he should keep him in his room for specific times,” Shakib said in his video message.

Sharing his own experience, Shakib said to the returnees that they have to follow the rules of quarantine. “I arrived just in the USA though there was always a bit of fear for me on the plane and I got it inside me. Then I have tried to keep myself clean, hygiene and germ-free as much as possible. I entered a hotel room directly after coming to the USA,” he said.

“I informed them that I will stay there for some days. As I have come here by flying, there is a bit of risk. And so, I isolated myself from my family. For this I can’t meet with my daughter. It’s obviously a pain for me,” he also said.

“If anyone comes back he has to be confined to a room. It should be kept in mind that no kith and kin meet with the returnee. It’s very important to stay 14 days in quarantine,” he added.
