4 killed as under construction gate collapses

Four people, including a schoolboy, were killed and five others injured after an under-construction gate of Shahid M.Mansur Ali Degree College at Gulta Bazar in Tarash upzila collapsed on Tuesday.

Three of the deceased were identified as Tojam Ali, 62, son of late Jaher

Ullah, Rashedul Islam, 25, son of Sultan Mahmud and Asif, 14, son of Shahadat Hossain.

The injured were admitted to hospitals in Bogura and Natore, said Sub-inspector Farid Mia of Tarash Police Station.

The gate collapsed on them while the four were standing beside the under-construction gate around 3:45pm, leaving them dead on the spot.

A case will be filed in this regard, the SI said.
