The cover of popular singer Anima Roy’s new solo album titled ‘Praner Majhe Aay’ was unveiled at a programme at Spectra Convention Centre in the capital on Saturday. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as chief guest at the ceremony and unveiled the album cover with other guests. Besides, to congratulate the artiste on the occasion of her new album release, Jatiya Party Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad, Vice-Chancellor of Jagannath University Dr Mizanur Rahman, eminent Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Muhammad, Laser Vision Chairman AKM Arifur Rahman and Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwal were present as special guests. The event was presided over by Shahid Group Chairman Sahiduzzaman Tarik.
Though this is Anima’s sixth solo album—which has been released under the banner of Laser Vision, ‘Praner Majhe Aay’ is the second instalment of a series of Tagore’s love songs. Earlier, an album titled ‘Tomaro Birohe’ was released as a compilation of Tagore’s love songs. Anima Roy’s new album contains 12 songs; notable songs are ‘Amar Praner Manush Achhe’, ‘Pran Chay Chakkhu Na Chay’, ‘Amar Praner Majhe’, ‘Jadi Baron Karo’ and ‘Ami Jene Shune’. The music arrangement of the songs has been done by Prattyush Bandyopadhyay from Kolkata. After unveiling of the album, Anima Roy enthralled the audience at her solo musical programme.
