A reporter with a private TV channel was injured when miscreants fired on a vehicle at Gahira near Raozan in Chittagong yesterday morning.
Police said the reporter, Rajib Sen Prince, from Mohona TV was returning from Raozan after covering the news of the burial of Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury.
“On our way back to Chittagong, some youths on the road asked us to stop our vehicle. They also hit the glass of the vehicle with batons. As our driver did not stop the vehicle, they started firing. Rajib was hit in the leg,” said Mohona TV’s cameraman Assaduzaman Limon, who was present in the vehicle during the attack.
Rajib was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, police said. No one was arrested in this regard until yesterday evening.
Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury was hanged around 12.55 am yesterday for crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War. He was buried in his family graveyard around 9.28 am after a namaz-e-janaza at Raozan.
