Sylhet: At least 10 people were injured in a clash between activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on the Bishwanath Degree College campus in Bishwanath upazila on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB. Two of the injured were identified as BCL leader Mujib Miah, Khaled Ahmed and Shamim Miah. BCL sources said the activists of JCD led by their leaders Rajon and Abdur Rouf attacked the BCL activists around 4pm on the college compound, which left ten people injured, including BCL leaders. On the other, JCD leaders said the clash was not with them; it was between two groups of the college unit BCL. Witnesses said the leaders and activists of BCL brought out a procession with arms and weapon around 4pm. Several crude bombs were also blasted when the procession reached Natun Bazar area in upazila headquarters. Sirajul Haque, principal of the college, also said they were not aware about the exact reason of the clash. On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, said Rafiqul Hossain, OC of Bishwanath Police Station.
