Tk 1,374 cr, 4.85 lakh tonnes food grains allocated

The government has allocated Taka 1,374.07 crore under Kabikha and 400,000 tonnes of food grains under test relief (TR) schemes for implementation of various development programmes in the 2014-2015 financial year, reports BSS. Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram, yesterday said this in the Jatiya Sangsad, while replying to a question from treasury bench member Gazi MM Amjad Hossain Milon of Sirajganj-3 constituency. He said the government in the same fiscal year allocated Taka 43,07,63,000 and 21,433 metric tonnes of food grains under special Kabikha programme and Taka 20,71,60,000 and 64,453 metric tonnes of food grains under the TR programme for implementation of various development programmes across the country. He informed the House that the special allocation and implementation of projects under TR and Kabikha programme were made as per the set policy of the government.
