The common people are now seeing a war criminals and razakar free Bangladesh after executions of BNP leader Salahuddin Quader (SQ) Chowdhury and Jamaat leader Ali Ahsan Mujahid, reports BSS. In their reactions over last night’s execution of the two top war criminals, people from all walks of life here expressed satisfaction saying that the nation has been passing through a historical reality to permanently establish true spirit of the War of Liberation.
They termed the executions of SQ Chowdhury and Mujahid have set up the example of rule of law and justice proving that none is above the law of the land and demanded for earliest completion of war crimes trial and execution of all war criminals.
They mentioned the nation had waited for four decades to see exemplary punishment to those committed crimes against humanity and execution of these two top war criminals after Quader Mollah and Kamaruzzaman have mostly freed the nation from that stigma. Rangpur City Mayor valiant freedom fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu hailed executions of SQ Chowdhury and Mujahid terming those as most important to reflect the long-cherished hopes and aspirations of the common people.
Vice-Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr AKM Nurun Nabi expressed satisfaction over execution of these two top war criminals to fulfill the expectations of the whole nation. The nation would definitely become free from the stigma as the war crimes trial will continue to ensure exemplary punishment for war criminals to build a Bangladesh free from anti-liberations forces, razakars, al-badars and al-shams, he said. Chilmari upazila chairman Shawkat Ali Sarker, Bir Bikram, said the nation was eagerly waiting for executions of SQ Chowdhury and Mojaheed which would definitely establish the core spirit and dreams of the martyred freedom fighters War of Liberation.
