In a bid to find culinary talents from across the country and recognise them at the national level, recipes are invited from the interested participants for the TV Reality Show, ‘Chef of the Year 2015’. Interested culinary artistes are required to submit their entries by July 25, 2015. Each entry will contain a recipe of Bangladeshi main dish, photo of the dish, participant’s passport size photo, detailed information about the participants including his/her division. One participant may send more than one entries. Creativity of the participant will be given priority.
Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor, The Bangladesh Monitor; AKM Fakhrul Alam, Regional Manager, Malaysian Palm Oil Council; ATN Bangla Advisor Nawazish Ali Khan (Programme), among others officially launched the programme through a press conference held on June 4 at the capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.
A Jury Committee comprising culinary experts, nutritionists, celebrity chefs will select 7 participants from each of the division of the country. Participants of each Division will compete among themselves. The two winning participants from each Divisional competition will be selected upon consideration of culinary expertise and other criteria. A total of 14 participant divided in two groups will enter in to second round of competition. Three participants from each group will be selected for the next round. Out of six contestants, five will enter into the next round and ultimately the Grand Finale will be held among the four participants.
The Chef of the Year, 2015 will be awarded with Tk.100,000.00 cash, two-air tickets for Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka travel. The Runner-up will be awarded with Tk.50,000.00 cash and two-air tickets for Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka travel along with other attractive prizes. In addition, one contestant will be honored with “Prof. Siddiqua Kabir Trophy” for nutrition knowledge. Winners of Divisional competitions will receive crests and other gifts. There will be attractive prizes for all the participants of the reality show.
The Reality Show is being sponsored by Malaysian Palm Oil Council and Family brand Palm oil of T K Group of Industries and presented by ATN Bangla and leading tourism and aviation fortnightly The Bangladesh Monitor. With a total of 13 episodes, Chef of the Year 2015 will be telecast on ATN Bangla from September, with one episode per week.
