A preventive team of Dhaka Customs House seized 2.950 kilograms (kg) gold bars after nabbing one person at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here on Wednesday night. The arrested was identified as Skeikh Sadi, a passenger of flight number MH-196 who came from Malaysia. Dhaka Customs House Assistant Commissioner (preventive) Solaiman Hossain confirmed BSS about the seizure, saying, “The gold was found after searching his body Wednesday night at the green channel area,” According to Customs, he was challenged by the officials for searching and was held immediately. He denied while asked about hiding anything but the officials searched him eventually and found the gold from his possession. The market value of the seized gold is approximately 1.5 crore Taka. Legal action was taken in this connection.
