Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) fined 13 business establishments Taka 1,35,000 for selling adulterated food items for not using digital weighing machines, without Certification Marks(CM) licenses and not maintaining hygiene standard here last month.
Different teams of BSTI conducted 13 special drives in 13 business establishments in the Khulna division, including four petrol pumps, one Biscuit factory and eight sweetmeat shops and fined the money after filling a total 23 cases in February last, said an official release issued yesterday.
According to the release, the drives against scrupulous business persons and establishments will continue.
