11 ‘dacoits’ held in city

Members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a drive arrested 11 ‘dacoits’ for allegedly planning to commit a dacoity in Balur Math area under Khilgaon thana in the capital. Khilgaon Thana Police conducted the drive on Sunday night, said a police official here on Monday. They also recovered some sharp weapons and 350 pieces of Yaba tablets from their possession.

The arrested dacoits are: Md Shohel, 30, Khokon, 30, Nurul Islam, 22, Chan Mia, 22, Shapon Mia, 20, Zahirul Islam, 20, Tusher, 20, Nahid, 19, Fahim Hossain, 19, Joni, 20 and Ali, 30. All of them were nabbed from Balur Math area in Nabinbag under Khilgaon.

The Khilgaon Police picked them up while they were preparing to carry out a robbery in the area.
