Bangabandhu, Bangamata U-17 football reach final stages

Chottagram Division and  Barisal Division will play the final of the second edition of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Under-17 National Football Championship when they eliminated their respective opponents in the semifinals yesterday. Meanwhile, In the final of the Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Under-17 women’s national championship Khulna Division will take on Dhaka Division in the final. In the boys’ first semifinal Chottagram Division defeated Mymensingh by 4-3 in penalty shoot-out after the scheduled 90 minutes time produced no goal.

In the second semifinal, Barishal Division defeated Khulna Division by 2-0 to move into the final.  All the boys’ and girls' semifinal matches was held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. In the girls first semifinal Khulna Division outplayed Chottagram by 4-1 and Dhaka earned hard fought solitary goal win against Rangpur to qualify in the final. The final matches of both boys and girls will take place on February 29 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
