BPL franchisee Rangpur Riders head coach Shane Jurgensen personally felt ashamed of Australian cricket team for not touring Bangladesh and stated that he didn’t notice anything of concerning for cricket. “Oh, no security concern. Fantastic so far,” said Shane Jurgensen, who arrived in Bangladesh on Tuesday night to coach Rangpur Riders in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) to be commenced from November 22.
“I think personally there is no sense of security concern. In the last couple of days, I didn’t see any thing of it. At the same time I shame for Australia not to come here,” Jurgensen told media prior to the onset of the team’s practice at National Cricket Academy in the capital yesterday.   Rangpur roped in the much-sought-player Shakib Al Hasan, who will be the special weapon to be materialised their team’s expectation to play in the final stage of the BPL for the first time. Jurgensen admitted it and said that Shakib will be the part and parcel of the team, which has been formed with the fantastic players.
“I like think so. I worked with him during my long coaching period. He (Shakib) is of course an integral part of the team,” Shane, who was in charge of Bangladesh team, thought. “Bangladesh is the place, where I gathered more experiences as coach on the stroke of my coaching tenure. I was in Bangladesh during the last edition of the BPL. So, I have some quite idea about the team. I got some fantastic ideas, I think, overall team, which is exciting. The balance is very good. Hopefully we will see what is happened,” former Bangladesh coach opined.
“Of course we want to reach the final which is possible. Obviously we need to win. We are a balanced team. In T20 cricket, any thing can be happened in an over. We have potential on paper and make sure to cross the line and execute the game plan accordingly.”     Like other teams, they also got less-time to prepare the players together for the BPL campaign, said Australia-born coach.
“It’s sign for the most of the team. All the teams have got less number of players together ahead of the BPL. It’s good think that boys are playing good cricket. They should have played some more games with Zimbabwe and ‘A’ team’s games,” the 39-year-old coach said. “Many overseas players including Sri Lanka and West Indies will be played in the BPL. So, all were playing cricket. We got experienced players. The opportunity we have got here we will be sharpened them by training during the rest of the days,” he added.
“There will be four foreign players and seven local players in the team that we are pushing for them. It’s important moment for these guys to train for catch-up, who is actually fine for the games.” He said that Twenty20 is such sort of game, where the result can be changed by a player at any moment of the game.
“In T20 cricket, one over one player can win a game whether he is bowler or batter. I think it’s really important. A game is a mental battle in T20 cricket. So, it is a game of 120 balls. I think it is a bit sort of vantage. At the same time, every team is prepared for that. We have to just make sure for our part,” Rangpur coach insisted.
Meanwhile, most the BPL franchisees participated in practice sessions at the BCB Academy ground. Comilla Victorians had a long practice session with team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortoza himself inspired his players to prepare them for the title fight.
