Biswa Ijtema to begin on January 8

UNB

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday said Biswa Ijtema, one of the largest congregations of Muslims, will begin on January 8 and it will be held in two phases as in previous years, reports UNB.
“The first phase of the Ijtema will be held on January 08-10 while the second phase on January 15-17 on the bank of the Turag River in Tongi,” said the minister at a press briefing over security measures ahead of the Biswa Ijtema.
He said necessary security measures will be taken for successful holding of the Ijtema.
“We’ll also take necessary measures for the devotees who will come to Bangladesh from abroad so that they can attend the Ijtema safely,” the minister added.
“Bangladesh embassies in different countries will be asked to give the foreign devotees special visas,” Kamal said.
