The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) started open market sale (OMS) of five basic commodities in the port city Chittagong yesterday, with a view to control the soaring price of essentials during the holy month of Ramzan.
The TCB started selling sugar, edible oil, lentil Bengal gram and dates through trucks in ten points of the city. The price of sugar has been fixed per kg Tk 37, the price of lentil has been fixed per kg Tk 103, the price of Bengal gram has been fixed per kg Tk53, price of edible oil per litrte Tk89, date for Tk70 per kg. A customer is allowing to buy 2kg of lentil, 1kg of date, 3kg of Bengal gram, 4kg of sugar and 5 litre of edible oil at a time.
