Tanvin Sweety, once a busy model and actress who was seen working in Television Commercials (TVC) and tele-dramas simultaneously, is set to work in a new drama serial titled ‘Taka’. DhakaLive has news about Sweety’s upcoming work that the shooting of the drama serial will begin on November 25 and it will be produced by Sumon.
Sweety said about her new drama serial, “As I am always after wonderful stories and brilliant characters, the amazing story of this new drama serial has attracted me enough to act here. That is why, I have agreed to work in it.”
Sweety worked in a TVC for the last time four years ago and also seen rarely in single-episode tele-dramas. Is there any reason that Sweety wants to stay away from acting? When asked about the fact, she informed that she is not interested to act in average tele-dramas which lack good stories. Only for this reason, she does not wish to remain busy like many others in a series of works, one after another. Moreover, she is not working in the TVCs also, if the scripts fail to satisfy her. As a result, she was seen in her last TVC four years back for Tetley Tea under the direction of Mitul.
Sweety said, “Nowadays, TVCs are being mostly made based on stories and a model is not presented appropriately there. Even, it’s not clearly portrayed that a model is playing a role in the recent TVCs. Compared to our time, when we used to work for TVCs, most of the TVCs were produced based on the models.”
She also cleared the confusion over her irregular presence in the single-episode tele-dramas as there are many who think Sweety is not interested to work in this arena. She said, “I will obviously work in the single-episode tele-dramas, if they come with good stories. As an artiste I always have fascination towards a wonderful story and a brilliant character.”
Besides, Sweety-acted two drama serials—‘Lake Drive Lane’ directed by Nazrul Islam Raju and ‘Dhaka Wife’ directed by Akram Khan—are being aired regularly on two TV channels.
On the other hand, she is also regularly working in a stage play titled ‘Mukti’. The play is directed by Tropa Majumdar, while Mijarul Quayes has adapted it from Lee Blessing’s original English play.
