The government will execute the verdict against Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid and BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury without delay once all the legal formalities are complete, according to Law Minister Anisul Haq, reports UNB.
“We would execute the verdict at the quickest possible time following all legal procedure so that none can raise question about it,” he said. The minister said this while talking to reporters about the verdicts at his residence in Gulshan.
Terming Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahidand Salauddin Quader Chowdhury as prime architects of mass killing and rape during country’s Liberation War in 1971, the minister said the trials have been completed maintaining transparency.
He also said Bangladesh’s war crimes trial has been more transparent than anywhere else in the world.
The Supreme Court earlier in the day upheld its previous verdicts on Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahidand Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, rejecting their pleas for reviewing the death penalties handed down for their crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
