Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the government has given importance on expanding quality education in order to prepare the new generations as skilled and efficient citizen in the world.
The education minister said this on Tuesday as a representative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while he was addressing at the UNESCO Leaders Forum at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, said an education ministry press release yesterday.
Nahid said the government is providing training to a huge number of teachers and disseminating technical, vocational and information technology-based teaching and modernisation of madrasha education to bring a qualitative change in the education sector.
Even the government is providing special importance of the women education, Nahid said, adding that the expansion of women education can change attitude of the people in the society regarding role of the women in development of the society.
Early marriage, violence against women can be prevented through disseminating the women education, the education minister told the forum.
The world leaders including France President Francis Olad, President of Malta Mery Luise Soliro Fika also spoke at the forum.
