Auto-rickshaw driver killed
UNB, Gazipur
An auto-rickshaw driver was killed reportedly by muggers in Meghdubi area in the city yesterday
The deceased was identified as Rasel Chowkider, 25, son of late Md Ratan Chowkider, a resident of Haydrabad area.
Md Jahangir Alam, inspector (operation) of Gazipur Sadar Police Station, said locals spotted the body near a road in the morning and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body, said the inspector.
He might have been strangulated to death by muggers who had snatched his vehicle, said the police official adding that the victims hands and legs were tied up with rope.
Mild tremor jolts Sylhet

A mild tremor jolted different parts of the division yesterday.
The earthquake, measuring 4.1 magnitude on the Richter Scale, was felt at 1:11 pm which lasted for few seconds, said Senior Observer Lutfar Rahman of Sylhet Meteorological Department. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the bordering area of Gowainghat upazila. However, no casualty was reported.
JCI Dhaka Cosmopolitan meeting held

The 1st general members meeting of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka Cosmopolitan for the year of 2020 was held in the capital recently, says a press release.
Tanzila Zaman, local president for year 2020 conducted meeting. Executive Vice-president (EVP) Taufiq uz Zaman, Secretary General Sarzana Mahtab, Vice-presidents Ayesha Saeed and Aurora Mohammadi, Treasurer Saif Alam, General Legal Counsel Saif Uddowlah, Director Rezwan Ul Haque, Alisa Islam and Nahian Rahman, Committee Chair Farah Jabeen and Ahmed Jawad Yusuf were present in the event. At the event the quarter one social project plans and event initiatives where discussed and the treasurers report was published.
