He has been kept in a special cell on the suspicion that he has been affected by the coronavirus. But the virus has not been tested yet.
“We have heard about this patient,” said Prof. Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
He, however, said samples of the Chinese citizen's saliva was yet to be collected.
A senior official of the hospital said the Chinese citizen came to the hospital around 2pm. He has been diagnosed with fever, cough, and shortness of breath. He
has been kept in a room with negative air pressure as per the government’s instructions. The air in this room does not go out.
The hospital authorities, after speaking to the Chinese citizen, found that he had arrived in Dhaka between January 18 and 20.
