Govt. Jubilee School beat Patuakhali by 3-2 goals in tie breaker in one of the opening match of Bangabandhu National School Hockey competition that inaugurated yesterday at Sheikh Jamal Stadium in Faridpur.
The match rolled into a tie breaker after the regulation time ended in a goalless draw.
Earlier, Faridpur Deputy Commissioner and Faridpur District Sports Association (DSA) president Atul Sarkar formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation acting general secretary Mohammad Yousuf, Faridpur DSA vice president Mujibul Haque Firoz and First Security Islami Bank Ltd Faridpur branch manager Lotifur Rahman were also present.
A total of 80 schools are taking part in nine venues across the country.
