AIUB’s convocation held

The 19th convocation of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) was held on its  campus  in the capital yesterday, said a press release. On behalf of Chancellor of the university President Abdul Hamid, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni presided over the ceremony and conferred degrees on 4, 504 graduating students. Among them, 6 were awarded with Chancellor’s Gold Medal, 39 received Dr Anwarul Abedin Leadership Award and 40 received Vice-Chancellor’s Award. Deputy Minister of Education, Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury MP and Prof Kazi Shahidullah, chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, were the special guests while Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was the convocation speaker. The Chairman, AIUB Board of Trustees Nadia Anwar and Vice-Chancellor Dr Carmen Z Lamagna also delivered their speeches on this occasion.
