Bangladesh to start campaign with Test

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the schedule for the upcoming full series against Zimbabwe that comprises of three ODIS, two T20Is and one off Test at two different venues in February-March 2020, the BCB confirmed the itinerary through its media release yesterday.

 Zimbabwe are scheduled to arrive on February 15 where the visitors will play two-day practice match (18-19 Feb) before the series kicks off with one-off Test. The venue of the two-day warm up match is yet to be declared.

The one-off Test, which won’t be a part of the ICC World Test Championship, will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur from February 22-26 while all the three ODI (D/N) matches will take place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chattogram on March 1, 3 and 6 respectively. The two sides will come back to Dhaka again to play two T20Is (D/N) at the Home of Cricket (SBNCS) on March 9 and 11.

The visitors will depart Dhaka on March 12.

Earlier, Zimbabwe were scheduled to play one-off Test and five T20Is according to the ICC Future Tour Programme (FTP). But the BCB was planning to rearrange the schedule reducing few T20I matches to add ODIs for the upcoming series.

The Zimbabweans were also part of the Tri-Nation series involving Afghanistan that took place in September last year.
