DIU celebrates 18th anniversary

A four-day 18th founding anniversary celebration programme of Daffodil International University (DIU) concluded yesterday on the permanent campus of the university, says a press release. Dr Rubana Huq, president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters (BGMEA) and Managing Director of Mohammadi Group, was present at the programme as chief guest. She also inaugurated the Annisul Huq Bhaban on the campus. Dr Abu Belel Mohammad Shafiul Huq, former chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh Army, and Jesmin Wafa, sister of Late Mayor Annisul Huq, were also present. Presided over by Dr Md Sabur Khan, chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University, the function was also addressed by Prof SM Mahbubul Haque Majumder, Pro-vice chancellor and dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Prof Mostafa Kamal, convener of 18th Founding Anniversary and dean, Permanent Campus, were present at the programme, among others. The chief guest Dr Rubana Huq said there is a difference between rich man and great man. Education can help you to realize this differentiation. She announced to donate100 books for Annisul Huq Study Centre.
IU first year classes begin today
UNB, Islamic University
The classes of first-year honours courses under 2019-20 academic session of Islamic University (IU) will start on the campus in Kushtia on Sunday. IU Acting Registrar SM Abdul Latif told UNB that the classes will be held at the respective departments of the university in the morning. The university authorities will organise an orientation programme for freshers at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium on February 3, he added. This year, 2, 305 students have been enrolled at 34 departments of the university.
