5 ‘Shibirmen’ arrested

Police arrested five activists of ‘Islami Chhatra Shibir’ from Dangirpar area in the city on Friday. Sahidulla Kawsar, deputy police commissioner, Rangpur Metroploitan Police, said Kotwali police raided residence of one Masudur Rahaman, an employee of an insurance company in Dangirpar area in the city, yesterday and arrested five persons with one laptop, five mobile phone sets, banners, leaflets, posters, books, and subscription books. They are identified as Mehedi Hasan, 23, of Ullapara in Sirajganj. Sajjadur Rahaman, 20, of Kurigram district,  Noman Sarkar, 23, of Lalmonirhat Sadar, Hadisur Rahaman, 20, of Rangpur and Rafi-Ibne- Zaman, 27,  of Bogura Sader. During the press briefing Zamir Uddin, Asst Police Commissioner, RMP, Abdur Rashid, OC, Kotwali Police Station were present.
