A group of primary school teachers at a press conference held yesterday noon at Mymensingh press club alleged that miscreants snatched away ballot papers of their association’s election in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh held on Friday.
The election of ‘Tarakanda Upazila Primary School Teachers Association’ held at Tarakanda Model Govt Primary School continued from 10.00am to 4.00pm and where 745 voters cast their votes out of 772 on Friday.
When the vote counting was on, Md Rezaul Karim, headmaster of Kakni Govt Primary School, also president candidate of another panel along with some 50 people loyal to him swooped on the election centre and snatched away some ballot papers around 11.00pm, it was alleged.
“Before snatching ballots, the miscreants also snapped the electricity connection at the centre and when we tried to stop the miscreants, they also beat up us”, alleged Md Moazzem Hossain, present candidate of opponent panel.
