Albania and Kosovo want to create a cross-border 'Mother Teresa Cup' for clubs in their national leagues, the Albanian Football Association (FSHF) told AFP on Wednesday. The games' governing bodies in both countries have "sent a letter to UEFA and FIFA proposing the joint organisation of the Mother Teresa Cup," FSHE spokesman Alban Tartari said.
Tartari added that the two countries have also asked UEFA "for the winner to qualify for the Europa League". In December Agim Ademi, the president of the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK), told local media that the were planning to "create a joint cup" named after Mother Teresa, who was born in 1910 to an Kosovar Albanian family in Skopje, now the capital of North Macedonia.
