1,000 cold-hit people get blankets

Some 1000 cold-hit people coming from 31 less-income groups and marginalized communities in Rajshahi city were given blankets aimed at lessening their sufferings caused by the sweeping cold weather at present.

Brac under its Urban Development Programme (UDP) donated and distributed the warm clothes at City Bhaban premises here yesterday.

Brac has been implementing the UDP in association with Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) to engage multi-sectoral partners to create employment opportunities for the urban poor people and improve their living and livelihood conditions and realise basic rights.

RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton distributed the blankets as chief guest.
