A thick blanket of fog affected flight operations yesterday at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport.
Fifteen flights of different airliners, including Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, SpiceJet, Qatar Airways, and Air Arabia, were delayed due to the dense fog. Besides, a Gulf Air flight from Bahrain, which was scheduled to arrive at 4:10am at Dhaka airport, was diverted to Kolkata. However, no flight was cancelled.
Moreover, three flights of US Bangla, Regent Airways, and Air Arabia from Doha, Muscat, and Sharjah, respectively, were forced to land at Kolkata airport due to dense fog at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport.
Additionally, Biman Bangladesh flight no. 122 from Muscat left for Kolkata yesterday from Shah Amanat International Airport after failing to land at Chattogram airport due to heavy fog.
