Forest department’s boatman’s body recovered in Satkhira

Police on Monday night recovered the body of a boatman of the Forest Department from the Madar River in Vetkhali area of Syamnagar upazila near the Sundarbans.
The deceased was identified as Nawab Ali Gazi, 65, a boatman of Koikhali Station Office under the Forest Department, Satkhira Range. Nazmul Huda, officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station, said on information, a police team recovered the body tied up with pontoon at around 11:30pm from the area.
Two people die in Chandpur

Two people have been killed in separate incidents in Chandpur on Monday.
In the first incident a village doctor was killed when a tree accidentally fell upon him in his home at Nagda village under Matlab Dakhshin Upazila on Monday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Delwar Hussain, 45, a local village doctor.
In the second incident that took place on Chandpur-Faridganj -Roypur regional highway, a 5 -year-old girl Lamia Akter was killed on the spot when a speedy and reckless truck ran over her at Dhanua Bazar area under Faridganj upazila on Monday noon. The truck bound for Chandpur from Faridganj, ran over her leaving her dead on the spot. Angry mob intercepted the killer truck but the driver managed to flee from the scene.
Lamia was a daughter of a poor day labourer Ibrahim Miji, a resident of Prottashi village under Faridganj Upazila.
Blankets distributed in Gaibandha

Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad, Sadar upazila command, distributed blankets to the inmates of Kashemul Ulum Nurani Hafizia Etimkhana at Chalkmamrozpur under Kholahati union of Sadar upazila yesterday to mitigate their sufferings caused by cold wave.
On the occasion, a blankets distribution function was held on the premises of the orphanagein the morning around 10 am with its president Alhaz Abul Kashem Sarker in the chair.
Freedom fighter Ali Akbar Miah, former commander of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad, upazila command, formally distributed the blankets to the orphans as the chief guest.
