Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested three alleged arms traders with a 7.65 mm pistol, two magazines and seven bullets from Gomostapur Square in Chapainawabganj yesterday afternoon.
The arrestees are Md Saddam Hossain, 22, of Parchowka village, Md
Sagar Ali, 21, of Rajnagar Hangami village both under Shibganj
upazila of the district and Md Al Mamun, 23, of Nimtala Kathal under Gomostapur upazila of the district.
RAB sources said acting on a tip-off, a RAB team from Chapainawabganj camp raided Gomostapur Square area at around 1:20 pm and held them with the arms and ammunition.
During primary interrogation they admitted their involvement in illegal arms trade, sources added.
