The publication ceremony of a poetry book titled ‘Prithibi Shera Shomokaleen Kobider Kobita’ by 35 world renowned poets was held yesterday at Brac Auditorium of Brac Centre in the capital’s Mohakhali area.

The book was translated and edited by poet Aminur Rahaman and published by Kathak.

The selected poems of renowned 35 following poets from all around the globe get placed in the book --Japanese poet Kajoki Shiraishi and Tendo Taijin, South African poet Peter Horn, Nicaraguan poet Arnesto Cardenal, Claribel Alegria, Francisco de Asis Fernandez, Geoconda Belli, Malaysian poet A Samad Said, Ahmad Kamal Abdullah and Malim Ghozali PK, Swedish poet Bengt Berg, Slovakian poet Milan Richter, poet Dr Benaissa Bouhmala from Morocco and poet Dr Lee Kuei-shien and poet Miao-yi Tu from Taiwan. Austrian poet Manfred Chobot, Dutch poet Germain Droogenbroodt, poet Agnes Meadows and Claire Booker from UK, Mexian poet Euro Zambrano, Egypt’s Poet Ibrahim Elmasri, Columbian poet Fernando Rendon and Mario Mathor. German poet Tobias Burghardt, Russian poet Victor Alexandrovich Pogadive, poets from Puerto Rico Luz Maria Lopez and Maria de los Angeles Camacho Rivas, Uruguayan poet Julio Pavanetti and Annabel Villar, Argentinean poet Jona Burghardt, poet from Iraq Ali Al Salah, Chinese poet Tian Xin Keith, Congo’s poet Kama Sailor Kamanda and Indian poet Sudeep Sen.

National Professor Anisuzzaman was present at the publication ceremony as chief guest, while renowned educationalist fiction writer Selina Hossain, poet and director general of Bangla Academy Habibullah Sirajee, poet Mohammad Nurul Huda, poet Jahidul Huq, poet Shihab Sarkar, professor Fakrul Alam, poet Kamal Chowdhury and poet Muhammad Samad were present as special guests.

Argentinean poet Jona Burghardt and German poet Tobias Burghardt attended the occasion of book launching programme as the selected poets of the new book.

Renowned recitation artiste Hasan Arif and Tropa Majumdar enthralled the attendees with their melodious and rhythmic recitation in the programme. Poets, poetry lovers and artists from the society attended the event.
