The Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts yesterday recommended settling eight audit objections in the annual audit reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in fiscal 2008-09 on the accounts of Dhaka Electric Supply Company (Desco), reports BSS. The committee made the recommendation at its 38th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir presiding. The meeting reviewed audit objections on the accounts of Desco involving Taka
34,52,42,775 and suggested settling those quickly as per the guidelines made by the parliamentary body.
Committee members M Abdus Shahid, Panchanan Biswas, AFM Ruhul Haq, M Afsarul Amin, Begum Rokeya Momin, M. Shamsul Haq Tuku, AKM Maidul Islam, M Rustam Ali Farazi and Begum Wasika Ayesha Khan attended the meeting.
CAG Masud Ahmed and senior officials concerned were present at the meeting, said an official release.
