Seminar on Bangladesh's culture held

A national seminar titled ‘Bangladesh's Culture and Cultural Studies’ was held at Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) of Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday, reports BSS.Prof Mijanuddin, vice-chancellor of the university, was chief guest. Emphasis should be given on more research on Bangladesh's culture and cultural studies for enriching the sector furthermore. VC Prof Mijanuddin says the recent culture of Bangladesh could be illustrated and explained in the light of culture related theories. Time has come to assess the present trend and necessities of cultural studies in different universities, he pointed out. Pro-VC Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan addressed the seminar as special guest with Swarachish Sarker, Director of IBS, in the chair. Prof Syed Monjurul Islam from the Department of English of Dhaka University was the keynote speaker.
