‘Inter-city train services, rail-routes increase’

Mentioning remarkable initiatives taken to enhance county’s railway sector during the tenures of Awami League government, Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon on Wednesday said a total of eight inter-city train services and three new routes were added to the sector in the last year.

 “Eight inter-city train-services have increased while three new rail-routes introduced in the last year under the ruling government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.

He came up with the information addressing a meeting at the auditorium of Rail-Bhaban in the city marking the one year celebration of progress of rail of the current government.

A total of 1,144 persons were recruited at deferent posts in the railway sector in last year, he said, adding that the train service between Bangladesh and neighbouring India has also increased.
