ACC to grill Ashiyan Group chief today

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate chairman of Ashiyan Group Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan and his wife Shamima Nasrin Shirin today for allegedly grabbing public and private lands, reports UNB. The Commission recently served a notice upon Nazrul Islam and his wife asking them to be present at the ACC head office today morning to face questioning, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. According to the allegations received by the national anti-graft body, Ashiyan Lands Development Ltd, a sister concern of Ashiyan Group, grabbed khas land, wetland, canals, graveyard and private-owned arable lands and homesteads to implement its housing projects. There is also an allegation that Ashiyan City Medical College Hospital was established without approval from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
