South Africa all-rounder Robbie Frylinck went into raptures over Khulna Tigers captain Mushfiqur Rahim for his wealthy of knowledge and his tactics what he used against the rival sides of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Last year Frylinck was in Chattogram Vikings with Mushfiqur from where he knows him well and is well-known for his style and other things that are really essential and praise-worthy not only for him but also for the whole team.
“I was with Mushy last year with the Chittagong Vikings,” said Robbie Frylinck, who drew all the attention from local crowd for his handy batting style, lethal medium pace along with his electrifying fielding that helped his team win the matches.
“I know his style and I know what he is about. He was a man with a wealth of knowledge and his tactics are really good to each player we play against. He gives so much information in our team meetings in terms of plans and stuff like that and also he can be quite calming out in the field as well,” Frylinck told media at the post-match conference at the media block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
“You never really see Mushy’s emotions run really high and he keeps everyone grounded. It’s just a pleasure to play under him and I really enjoy it,” he added.
He claimed five-for that demolished Cumilla Warriors by 34 runs in the crucial match for the play-off race. He was not highly delighted for this because it’s not only one instance of his bowling instinct what he disclosed it to the media.
“I think I have got five for sixteen before in South Africa in a T20 competition. I think it was five for sixteen,” he informed.
When asked about his motto, the all-rounder said, “Just stick to the basics nice and simple and it was a good T20 wicket and we had to bash in good length early on.”
“Obviously it started the worst way possible with five wides but I pulled it back in and the guys bowled really well so I was just the fortunate one,” he added.
However, Cumilla Warriors captain Dawid Malan said they had no stability problem in the top-order despite the exit of Avishka Rajapaksa and Dasun Shanaka. But he said they scored less than what they should have done and bowlers did not do their jobs properly to restrict the rivals.
“I don’t think there wasn’t stability. Rajapaksa did well, Dasun played well, myself, Soumya played well, so four of your top six played well,” said Dawid Malan, who top-scored so far in BPL.
“We let ourselves a little bit with the ball in the other games. Probably we are the only team that got 140 once but apart from that one game, we have not got under 160, which means we have played really well with the bat to get us to decent scores,” Malan told reporters.
“We have been just 10 runs short with the bat every game and 10 runs too many with the ball. That’s probably has been the difference. If you look at tonight, that 20-run swing,” he added.
