PM to open main Padma Bridge work by Dec 16: Quader

Munshiganj: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the main construction work on the Padma Bridge before this Victory Day, reports UNB.
He came up with the disclosure while talking to reporters after visiting the Padma Bridge construction site in Mawa yesterday afternoon.
The minister said 26 percent work of the Padma Bridge project has already been completed and now the test piling is underway.
“The piling of the main bridge will begin in December. All necessary preparations have already been completed,” he said.
Officials of the Padma Bridge Authority and the local administration were present during the minister’s visit.
