Artist Chitta Haldar remembered

A two- day long programmes on late freedom fighter, painter and sculptor Chitta Haldar ended on Friday.

Artist Chitta Haldar Reception Committee organized the event  at Ashwini Kumar Hall of the city.

It included discussion, photo exhibitions on life and works of Chitta Haldar. Panel Mayor Advocate Rafikul Islam Khokon inaugurated the programmes.

Closing ceremony of the programme was presided over by renowned artist and research scholar Dr Kazi Mozammel Haque and chief guest was S M Ajiar Rahman, deputy commissioner Barishal. Journalists cultural personalities Advocate Manabendra Batobayal and Advocate S M Iqbal were special guests of the closing ceremony.

Among others Prof. Lutfey Alam, painter and writer, Jiban Krishna Dey, juvenile organizer, Jharna Haldar, wife, Violet Haldar, daughter of late Chitta Haldar, Tawhid Imam, publisher of the souvenir, leading socio-cultural-intellectual personalities attended and addressed the programme.

Then the cover of the souvenir published on Chitta Haldar was unwrapped and the guests and discussants addressed about that and lifelong achievements of Chitta Haldar. Successful competitors of the juvenile painting competition were awarded prizes in the closing session of the programme.
