Elderly woman beaten dead by robbers

Robbers looted gold ornaments from a house killing an elderly woman in Navy-gate area in the city yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Kali Rani Sen, 70.
The incident took place around 10 am when she was alone at home, said Sonali Sen, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Khulna Metropolitan Police. The robbers beat up Kali Rani with an iron rod and looted gold ornaments, leaving her dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
