One killed, 30 injured in Natore road crash

A man was killed and 30 others were injured in a collision between two buses at Kashiabari Bridge area in Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Likhon, the assistant of a bus driver.
The accident took place around 9:30am when a Rangpur-bound bus from Rajshahi collided head-on with another bus coming from opposite direction.
Likhon was killed on the spot and 30 others were injured, said Asaduzzaman, deputy assistant director of Natore Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The injured were taken to a local hospital. Three of them were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Man hacked to death

A man was hacked to death by miscreants at Patitala village in Sundarganj upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Uttam Chandra Debnath.
Quoting victim's wife, Abdullahil Zaman, officer-in-charge of Sundarganj Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on the house of Uttam around 8:30pm and stabbed him indiscriminately.He was killed on the spot.
Police suspected that miscreants might have killed him over land dispute.
No-one has been arrested in this connection. Police sent the body to a local hospital morgue on Wednesday morning for autopsy.
Two held with firearms
UNB, Chapainawabganj
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two people with firearms at Uporkoyla in Shibganj upazila on Tuesday.
The arrestees were identified as Akash Anwar, 22, son of Saidul Islam, and Alamin, 30, son of Sarman Ali of the upazila.
A team of Rab-5 conducted a drive in the area and arrested them with a pistol, a shutter gun, six bullets and a magazine in the afternoon, said a press release of Rab. Later, they were handed over to police.
