8 fined for using gas illegally in Gazipur

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Gazipur regional office disconnected more than 4,000 metres of illegal gas lines of 150 residential houses in different areas of Gazipur city on Tuesday.  They also fined eight people Tk 2.65 lakh for using gas illegally.  Titas gas authority with the help of Gazipur district administration conducted a raid in Laxmipura, Hazibari and Kazibari areas of the city on Tuesday.

Manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Gazipur, regional office Engineer Ershad Mahmud said a number of illegal gas users connected gas lines in their residences without any permission of the Titas authority.  On secret information, they conducted a raid and disconnected the illegal gas lines and seized other materials using in illegal connection. High officials of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company, Gazipur regional office were present during the operation.
