2 held with yaba tablets in Ctg

Police in separate drives arrested two people along with 2,000 yaba tablets from Lohagara and Chandanish of Chittagong yearly yesterday. The arrestees were Senowara, 25, and Hanan Khan, 25, of Fazal.  Acting on tip-off, police arrested a woman along with 1,500 yaba tablets from Chunati area, said Mohammad Shahjan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lohagara police station. In another drive, Chandanish police arrested Hannan along with 500 yaba tablets from Gachbariya College area said Md Abul Kashem, officer-in-charge of Chandanish police station.
 
Van driver killed in road accident

A van driver was killed in a road accident in Matikata area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabgonj Highway of Rajshahi district yesterday, police said. The deceased was Tony, 35. Tony used to transport students of a nearby English Medium School. SM Abu Farhad, officer-in-charge of Godagari police station, said the accident took place when a speedy truck collided head-on with the van around 8am. He was going to start his duty with empty van in the morning. On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.  Police sent the body to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for post mortem.

Tourist drowns in Sylhet

A tourist drowned in the Piyain River while taking bath at Jaflong in of the district on Friday. The deceased was Shaon Ahmed, 20, son of Jamal Mia of Jatrabari area in the capital. Sources said Shaon along with his 7-8 friends went to the Piyain River for taking bath around 3 pm. At one stage, Shaon drowned in the river while the others managed to swim ashore. Later, he was taken to Jointapur Upazila Health complex Where doctors declared him dead.

Over the past 30 years the publishing house under the name, Scholastica Textbook Development Project and Printcrafl Limited published several textbooks for students in both English and Bangla.
