20th founding anniv of BCRA cerebrated

Bangladesh Cultural Reporters’ Association (BCRA) celebrated its 20th founding anniversary through elaborate programmes followed by an award giving ceremony at the auditorium of Music and Dance Centre of Shilpakala Academy on Wednesday. Veteran actor ATM Shamsuzzaman was bestowed with lifetime achievement award, while actor Amit Hasan, Kona Reza, actress Sujata, singer Khurshid Alam, Akhi Alamgir, Shafiq Tuhin and writer Mazharul Islam received the honourary awards at the event. Presided over by BCRA president Avi Chowdhury, Waraset Hossain Belal, MP, Bir Pratik, Manoranjan Shil Gopal, MP and Sammilita Sangskritik Jote president Golam Kuddus, among others, were present on the occasion.
Later, a discussion was held, where convener of the organisation's founding anniversary celebration committee journalist Saban Mahmud delivered the welcome address. In the second session of the celebration, artistes of film, television and musical arena—Kazi Shuvo, FA Sumon, Smita, Nargis Akter Neela, SM Shafi and others performed solo and chorus songs, while artistes of Udiyaman presented a dance performance directed by Aminul Islam Monir. l
