Formidable Sheikh Rusel Krira Chakra were dramatically eliminated the from the Federation Cup Football on the basis of fair play. Russel, who drew 1-1 with Muktijoddha KC in their third match yesterday, ended with five points as earned by Muktijoddha, Mohammedan and Russel KC. All three teams had equal goal difference and also in head to head count. Therefore the tournament committee decided to select Muktijoddha and MSC to play in quarterfinals from the group.
Russel took lead in yesterday’s match at Bangabandhu National Stadium when Azizov Ali Sher sent the ball into the net from a close range. Muktijoddha drew level in 51st minute through Ismail Bangoura.
